L.A. FOOD NOT BOMBS ATTACKED FOR SERVING FOOD IN PERSHING SQUARE -
Food Not Bombs has been demonstrating against poverty and homelessness by feeding the hungry in the park for the last two years without incident. But for the past two weeks, apparently in response to the use of the park by a private, for-profit skating rink, LA police and park rangers have made arrests of Food Not Bombs members and others at the park. In response, FNB announced that on Sunday, January 2, they will not be serving food in Pershing Square Park, as they have customarily for two years, pending a legal announcement on Tuesday, to be made at a noon press conference in Pershing Square Park. For more information, contact Michael Novick of People Against Racist Terror at 310-495-0299; or by email at part2001@usa.net |
